The text in form field removed when printing

Hello,

This problem is new for Word 2003 - it was not a problem in Word XP.

I have a Word document with a form field. It is protected for "filling in
forms" and some text is entered into the form field. Unprotect the document
and protect it again but this time for "comments". Print the document and the
text in the form field is cleared. The option Update Fields when printing is
selected but I need to have it selected for other reasons.

Why is the form field cleared??

Why are you unprotecting the document and then protecting it for comments?

I suspect it is being cleared by the update fields option.

If you unlink your formfields before printing you will be able to print the
results.
