The Versions feature

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I work use both the Windows (2003) and Mac (2008) versions of Word. The 2003 version in Windows includes the Versions feature but this seems to be missing in the 2008 version in Windows.

I can't find any "official" explanation of why this is the case, and this situation is very disappointing as it makes life very difficult when sharing documents between a Mac and PC.

Will this feature be added to a future version of Word on the Mac?

You'll rarely find a software developer that will offer any explanation --
"official" or otherwise -- for removing faulty components which never should
have been included in the first place :) The Versions feature is a well
known cause of corrupt documents & has been since it was introduced.

It was purposely excluded from Word 2008 & I wouldn't expect to see anything
like it added in future releases. Not only was it specifically removed from
Mac Word, but it has been excised from Win Word as well effective with the
release of Office 2007.
