Ask your friend to try the following: On the Tools menu, click
Customize. Click the Options tab. Make sure to enable the option to
always show full menus, and click OK. If this doesn't help, then see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/RestoreMenuCmd.htm.
Many thanks for the suggestion. I forwarded it to Jill but she hasn't
