"the visual basic environment could not be initialised"

Everytime I try to open Microsoft Word XP it comes up with a error box
stating "The visual basic environment could not be initialised" which I can't
get ri of and now can't use word. Can anyone help me out with a fix for this
or a direction for a fix??
