Theme not working

I want to change the theme on my site - everything is fine except I cannot
get the background to show up, nor the font to show up correctly. I've done
this several times in the past with no problems but for some reason, it won't
work this time. I've also tried with a different theme and that won't work
either.

The theme is shown in the source and yet refuses to work. Any suggestions
please?
The site is hosted by freeola, and the theme I chose is tabs and folders.

How are you publishing
- if not w/ FP http mode you need to upload the hidden _themes and _themes/tabs/ folders
Your site is using CSS for the theme
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="_themes/tabs/tabs1111.css">
But the file http://www.suemelvin.net/_themes/tabs/tabs1111.css is showing file not found

Thanks for the response. I was using my usual Terrapin to ftp, but despite
repeated attempts, although it appeared to have uploaded the themes, it
hadn't. I have now started again with another theme, and used the built in
ftp with FP. I'm happy to say it worked.
