Theme question

I have played around with different FP 2003 themes on Windows XP Pro with
IIS installed . I mainly picked out style for navigation bars in shared
borders. What bothers me is that I changed themes, yet the old theme is
present under the themes. Does FP not delete old themes when changed to new
themes?

People also wanted one button to stand out for printing pdf file so I
applied style to the button. I normally would have thought that one button
would require one gif or maybe two if you wanted color change for button
when clicked. However, just applying the style, I had several gifs under
that theme loaded.

Themes are a pain to upload when you are on stone-age dial-up.

Can I just delete the themes under the _theme folder without messing
something up? I found out the hard way not to go into Inetup and just delete
things!

After you have modified a theme, you must save it under a new name, then remove the current theme,
then apply the newly modified theme.

No you can not just delete the _theme folder if you are using a theme.

I am having difficulty removing the theme. I have the sandstone theme under
my _theme folder. However, I am not using it. Under help it says to select
"No theme" to remove a theme. I click the arrow (they ought to make that
arrow more distinctive) which gives me the option to "apply to selected
pages". I tried to highlight all my .htm folders and do that but the
sandstone theme is still under the _theme folder.

If you are not using the theme, then delete the folder while in FP.

I got it figured out. You have to apply "no theme" to remove the theme and
then it is one of those things you don't see happen until you Publish.

Suggest you look at Interactive Buttons (for the printing pdf file ) instead of applying a theme just to get a button

KB555010-- I am looking at the %USERPROFILE%. I am supposed to create a
folder with the path \Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\Buttons which
will containg my cutomized XML and png + gif images which I created. How is
the symbolic %USERPROFILE% resolved? On Windows XP Pro am I supposed to
place the folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\ ? I
bet I am supposed to have folder directly under Username?

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\Buttons

Thanks, I got it to work. Initially, I could not find the Application Data
folder. Then I used Windows Explorer and found it was a hidden folder.
