Themes

I have a basic flow chart that I have applied a theme to and all the shapes
are one color, none of them are the accent colors like it shows it's
supposed to be. I put all the different shapes on the flow chart just to
see if the different shapes would pick upl the accent colors and it's not.
Going through the training videos and articles, I have done everything I am
supposed to do. Does anyone know why all my shapes have the same color? I
want my decision shape to be an accent color, not the sme as the process
shape.

Also, in one video, it said there were color themes, go to Tools, Add ons,
Visio Extras, Color Themes. I do not have that on my menu -- is this
different than the themes I am currently using that don't work? Or will
these work?

Thank you for your help.

and what version of visio are you using, since most of the demos are showing
off v2007?

By default most Visio shapes display the "Fill Color" for the current theme.
If you want a shape to display one of the accent colors, then you need to
apply that color to the shape. Visio 2007 has new color pickers in the Fill
dialog and on the toolbar. The top half of the color picker lets you choose
from colors that are tied to the theme. That means the color changes as the
theme changes. The bottom half of the picker lets you choose static colors.
Pick an accent color from the top half for your shape. Then it will show
the accent color of whatever theme you apply.

Thanks for your help! Yes, I am using Visio 2007, sorry I wasn't specific.

So even though none of the videos or training articles tell you that, you
still have to go to each and every shape and format it yourself. It does
work now, so thanks very much, I just wish they would say that in the
training videos. They just show that it magically happens when you select
themes!
