"There are no products affected by this package installed on this

Rob

I have the Vista RC1, i am a member of the beta test program (also having
Microsoft Office 2k7). I had microsoft mail working great before i loaded
office 2k7. Now, every program of office does not work after i have
installed it. every program gets the error: "Microsoft XXXX has stopped
working". Whether it be outlook, word, excel, etc.

I came to the Vista "refresh" site for office and downloaded the 506Mb
refresh file. It did the scan and told me at the end: "There are no products
affected by this package installed on this system". This doesn't make sense
because obviously i have Vista and have Office 2k7 and the Office 2k7 isn't
working. I am strongly considering un-installing Office and just running
individual smaller apps to get them working, but i would really love to keep
Office 2k7 in order to evaluate it and help Microsoft debug it. However i
cannot do this if i can't get it to even open.

Please help!

Hi Rob,

The Office 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh updates (B2TR) are patch packages to the original MS Office 2007 product downloads. They do
not contain a complete program. Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel to be sure that the correct language
edition and Office 2007 Beta 2 products that you wish to update are already listed there. If not you can use the 'get the beta'
link below to download the Office 2007 Beta2 products (there is a $1.50 signup fee for those)

Also in Vista, what order did you install, Vista Beta 2, Vista RC1 and Office 2007 products and their B2TR updates?

When downloading and installing the B2TR updates there are a number of B2TR (Office 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh Patch packages)
available.

Check to see that B2TR patch update package that you downloaded matches

(a) the Office 2007 Beta 2 product that you have installed, (i.e. there are separate B2TR updates for MS Office Professional 2007
and for MS Office Project 2007. (Exception: There is not a separate B2TR for One Note (OON), the Onenote B2TR update is included in
the MS Office Pro 2007 B2TR update)

and

(b) also check that you're using the same language version B2TR Technical Refresh patch update package as the language of your
original Office 2007 Beta 2 installation.

The filename of the downloads contain a string
for Office 2007 Beta 2 Professional Edition (OPP) along the lines of the following

OPP-EN = (English)
OPP-FR = (French)
OPP-ES = (Spanish)
OPP-DE = (German)
OPP-JP = (Japanese)

B2TR Technical Refresh Patch to Office 2007 Beta 2 Professional Edition include the string

-fullfile-en-us = (English)
-fullfile-fr-fr = (French)
-fullfile-es-es = (Spanish)
-fullfile-de-de = (German)
-fullfile-jp-jp = (Japanese)
