What I see that you can do is:
1° Backup your documents to a cd, or something out of the computer, just in
case (a.k.a. The CYA rule!)
2° Use the "Uninstall MS Office:Mac Test drive" Tool located on the Test
Drive Folder.
3° try to open the files using the full Office version.

If this doesn't work, then uninstall and reinstall the MS Office:Mac 2004.
However, I don't think you will need to do this.
