No option where?
Which version of Outlook do you use now and what are you trying to do?

I am using 2003 SP2. I am fixing a pst for a client that has 2000. Everyone
else in my department has this option and my install came from the same
server. I need to brinng these files in to my Outlook to fix, split, etc. I
go to new>outlook data file and there is only one option. I am trying to find
out why I don't have this option and how I get it.

Why exactly woudl you need to bring the file into outlook to "fix" or
"Split" it?
The first thing to do is usuually to run scanpst on the file.
You can open a 2000 format Outlook file in Outlook 2003 using File | Open
....
Dont' try to import it!

File | New | Outlook data file ... should give you the option to create a
new Outlook 97-2002 personal folder file. What do you see in the New Outlook
Data File dialog box shown after selecting File | New | Outlook data file?

I needed to split his pst because it was 1.6 GB and it would freeze up
his Outlook 2000. I should point out I already did this on one of my
co-workers PC that had this option, scanpst did not see errors. I
brought it in and made 2 pst files in the 97-2002 format and
successfully brought it in to his system. (I tried it on my system. His
brought in the original file after split but not the new pst made in
2003 format - no suprise).

You ask what I see? I stated this in my original post "There is no no
option for Microsoft Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders
File when creating a new PST file in Outlook 2003. How do I add it?
Everyone here has this as one of the 2 options, I only have "Office
Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst)". I have re-installed from same
point as others but option does not show up."
I am no longer concerned with the pst file but getting this
option(Outlook 97-2002 Personal Folders) in my Outlook.
Thanks, Mike

Bill, I appreciate you response but could you please read my full post>
I state there what I did to fix and with no data lost. You state "I"m
not sure why you are missing the Old format PST option." Well that is
why I came here to this group because no one at work knows(we are IT
here). I want to know why it is missing and how I get it back.
Thanks, Mike
