There is no Web named "/"???? What's going on?

Hello,

I'm going nuts here. Recently, I've been gettting a "A website does
not exist at [name of
my site]. Would you like to create one?" error when publishing my site.

I've removed and re-installed the Frontpage extensions and now, it's
worse. Not only do I get the above error, but when I click "yes" (to
create a new site) I get this error:

There is no Web named "/"

What the heck is going on?

My ISP, Comcast, has basically washed their hands of it, saying that
they don't support problems with their "Personal Web Pages". They say
that even though they provide space for you, they don't help you if
things go wrong.

Try as I might, I can't get beyond this hurdle.

Any ideas?

Ask Comcast to reapply the extensions to your account from their end and to run Server Health Check.
You can not create a root web on a server, if must be already created when you access it from within
FP.

You may have to consider get a real web hosting service, not a ISP provided service.

I have been putting off getting a hosting service because I didn't want
to incur the extra cost. The Comcast servers were working well until
now. If need to, I'll go and do it, though.

I just got off the phone with Comcast and they will do nothing. They
basically don't care.

Well,

After much wrangling with Comcast, I finally got to chat with a tech online.
We finally got it going. But it took a *lot* of pushing and insisting on my
part.

Comcasts servers are getting slower and slower. It's probably due to the
increase in people signing up for hi-speed internet and making websites,
etc.

Maybe it's time to strike out on my own. :>)
