Yeah, you are right, it has nothing to do with memory or disk space, it's an
access issue.
The error message you are seeing is ancient: back in those days, the most
likely cause of trouble was that the disk was full.
What it really means is "A disk access failed".
You might begin by running Disk Utility and using Repair Permissions. You
should also shut down the computer all the way until the power goes off.
During the re-start, Unix will run its housekeeping routines to clean up the
temporary storage.
However, I suspect that what is happening is that the file can't be accessed
because Safari still has it open. To check this, try quitting Safari.

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Every time I try
to download a document from Safari and open it with Microsoft Word 2004, it
tells me that I have no disk space/memory and it won't open it. I find this
hard to believe, because I have 64 gigs of memory left on my hard drive, and I
