"There is not enough memory..."

Jeff

A coworker tried to open a .dot file and got the message:
"There is not enough memory or disk space to There is
insufficient memory or disk space. Close extra windows and
save your work."
No, that's not a typo - that is the exact error message
from word. The file is only 228k and the machine has
256MB of RAM and plenty of disk space. I get the same
result on other machines. Microsoft knowledgebase only
brings up articles referring to saving a file. I'm not
saving, I'm trying to open. I can open it in Notepad,
although there is a lot of garbage in it from formatting
and such that Notepad can't interprit. Any ideas?
Thanks
Jeff
