There isn't enough disk space or memory - indexing

T

Tony Girgenti

When i try to make some table fields into indexes on a local standalone
AccessXP database, i get the message:

"Microsoft Access can't change the data type"
"There isn't enough disk space or memory"

When i do it at the office, it works fine. When i bring it to another site
and try it, i get the above message.

Both computers have plenty of memory and disk space.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

Has the virtual memory been set to a fixed amount on one PC?

Perhaps the problem is that there isn't enough
disk space or virtual memory. One reason for
that would be that the virtual memory has been
set to use a different disk, or has been set to
use only a small amount of disk space.

What would the issue with fixed vitual memory be? What would be your
recommendation?
