There should be a Palm One Note version or, at least, the ability to convert
back and forth. I have a Palm Tungsten T5. It's brand new. I really like
the MS Office One Note software, but if I can't interface it with my PDA
there really isn't any use for it as I can just write notes in MS Word format
and interface that way. I took advantage of the One Note 60 day trial and I
like what I see. I liked it so much that I thought if I can use this with my
T5, I'll buy it. I went to help in One Note and got this reply:
"You cannot use Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 to copy notes from some
handheld computers, such as a Palm handheld computer. You can use OneNote to
import notes from a Pocket PC running Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket
PC, Pocket PC 2002 software, or Pocket PC 2000 software. You can also use
OneNote to import voice recordings from Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003–based
Smartphones."
Hmmmmmm...I can't use it...end of story and a sale is lost.
You might think that marketing-wise you're pointing me to a PC PDA, but
you're not. What you're doing is essentially preventing a sale of the One
Note software because it's too limited. I love my T5 - it works well and I
can use MS Office compatible software with it. Locking Palms out of the One
Note system is just short-sighted.
