There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server

Does anybody know why we get this when we try to forward some emails. It
only happens on certains emails that i try to forward.

SBS2000 SP4, Exchange 2000.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Comcast is rejecting because there is no MX record for
"compexserver.compex.local". Of course there is no way to advertise this.
Any chance you can visit the SMTP virtual server and put in the proper HOST
name your provider assigned you?

Are you asking do i have access to the server console ?

Yes I do. How do i put in the proper host name ?

You would go into Exchange System Manager. Under the server object there
should be a protocols folder. Under there is a folder for SMTP. Right
click on the object in that folder and select properties. Go to delivery
tab and then the advanced button. Again, this is where you put the host
name of your public IP address.

If this seems a little confusing, if I wanted to send you mail, what is the
name of your domain? (e.g. for me, my email address shows
(e-mail address removed) so online.mvps.org would be the name of my domain.)
Maybe one of us can tell you what you should put in that box.

Hello Neo.

I tried this and it did not fix the problem.

When i tried going back in to change it back to what it was, it hangs up
with an hour glass and never gives me control to change it back.

Now what do i do ?
