Thesaurus not working

Hello,
I have MS-Word 97 SP2 on Windows NT 4.0 SP5.
My thesaurus has stopped working.
I have tried a COMPLETE reinstall of ALL software.
Can some provide some troubleshooting suggestions???

Reinstall won't do anything unless you're starting on a completely new
system, as reinstall does not touch any of the user-created data or registry
settings where the problems generally lie.
