I'm not sure what broke it, its working on one of my systems, not the
other.
Both have Vista, so its not the OS.

It did work, though it's been broken for long enough I can't try to
make
an
educated guess about what change might have caused the problem.
Now, when the thesaurus in invoked, I get the "sorry" sound effect and
no
other feedback. Thesaurus is not greyed out in the Proofing menu, but
does
not give any response, not even the "sorry" sound.
I had not installed the hotfix pack, however it does not seem to be
available for download in any of the KB articles I have located
discussing
it.

Did it ever work in Outlook? What exactly happens now? Do you have

I have Outlook 2007 installed as PART OF THE OFFICE 2007 SUITE (so
not
same
as most other cases where they do not have Word 2007). However, at
some
point the thesaurus stopped working in Outlook 2007. I have removed
Outlook
from the Office installation and reinstalled and likewise for Word,
but
it
is
still non-functional. Thesuarus works under Word. Any solutions,
short
of
complete uninstall of the Office Suite?
