Things you need to add to PowerPoint

Rainbow/ other gradients & patterns available for line color
Patterns for backgrounds etc.
Animations like flip should be available for all shapes, not just word art
More autoshapes need to be available, like raindrop and flame
Easy background gradients in shapes besides circle & square (star, spiral,
etc.)
More textures (stars, fireworks)
Ability to change the size of the pattern (small, large, etc.)
There needs to still be a link at the bottom that takes you to the slide show

Thanks!

This is available in PPT 2007 (currently in beta).
Patterns for backgrounds etc.

It's already there. Format|Background|Fill Effects|Patterns.

Because the Flip animation incorporates a text effect, you have to have some
text in the autoshape in order for it to be available.

You can even delete the text after you've applied the Flip animation, but it
seems to be looking for the text in order to be available in the first
place. Sounds like a bit of a bug to me, but it's got an easy workaround.
More autoshapes need to be available, like raindrop and flame

PPT 2007 has a few new autoshapes, but I don't think raindrops and flames
are included. Have you tried clipart?
Easy background gradients in shapes besides circle & square (star, spiral,
etc.)

This *is* easy. Fill Effects|Gradient.

Ooooh, wait. You want things like spiral and star-shaped gradients, is that
it? You might like the gradients in PPT 2007, then, because you can set the
angle and add "stops" and stuff.
More textures (stars, fireworks)

You know, you can select any picture to use as a texture fill. They're
really the same thing, just a texture fill tiles.
Ability to change the size of the pattern (small, large, etc.)

Yeah, I think this isn't doable. You could create your own patterns, save
them as images, and insert them using Fill Effects|Picture or Fill
Effects|Texture. This would give you maximum flexibility.

Pattern fills have gone away in PPT 2007, so if you rely on them, you may
want to begin thinking about workarounds now anyway.

?? Link at the bottom of what? The PPT screen? If so, there is -- it's the
little screen icon on the lower left of the screen. Or hit F5 (try Shift+F5
to start from the current slide).
