Third party Identifiers Stored in Outlook Messages.

I am using a 3rd party application that works alongside Outlook 2003.
This application stores an identifier within each email message. When
this application processes the message it sets the identifier. Once
the identifier is set the application will not process the message
again.

For special cases I need to be able to process some messages more than
once, and so need to reset the identifier manually. The application
does not provide a facility to do this.

Is there some way I can expose an identifier introduced by 3rd parties
into an Outlook message and manually switch that identifier off?

Maybe. It depends on what the identifier consists of. Tools like MFCMAPI.exe and Outlook Spy (http://www.dimastr.com/) can help you poke around.
