This Document Contains Macros

I have numerous word documents that were created in Word
97. We have recently upgraded to Word XP.

(1) When opening the older documents (that previously did
not experience ANY problems), I receive a message stating
that the document contains macros and asks if I want to
Disable-Enable-Cancel.

Try going to Tools, Macros, Security. Change the security
to Medium or Low. That might solve your problem.

This message shouldn't be received at all. I can not
downgrade my protection due to the setup my company uses.

The mere presence of code modules is enough to trigger that warning, even if
the code modules are completely void of code.
