This fixed my Office Update problems!

The text below is from an earlier post and worked for me. I can now run
Office Update successfully on my Windows XP SP2 PC.

I don't know if installing Script 5.6 downgraded or changed anything
critical that was needed by SP2.

I had this problem on one of my 150+ PCs and found that Windows Script 5.6
fixed the trouble. KB - 323885. Everything I tried failed, even removing
..Net framework, reinstalling Office 2K and SPs, and KB - 304498. Some
Windows Script component was corrupted. I hope that this helps all of the
postings I read looking for assistance. I hadn't heard anything from Uncle
Bill! Good luck to all.
