This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage

Hi

Hope someone can help. I am using Entourage 10.1.6 and OS 10.4.11 which I just updated last week. I had to force quit Entourage and now when I try to open it I just get a screen saying 'This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage'.

I have had an issue for a few weeks where some lines in my inbox were missing. Read somewhere this morning that this means a corrupt database. Have rebuilt the database but still get the 'This identity cannot be opened.....' message.

Any thoughts on what to try?

Let me guess - as well as rebuilding the database you also re-installed
Office, yes?

This message crops up when a database last used by an updated version of
office is opened by a version of office that has not been updated to the
same extent.

All you need to do is choose 'check for updates' under the help menu in
Entourage. That will apply any current updates and resolve the problem.
