"This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage."

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I've been running the other MS Office 2004 apps on this laptop for a few weeks but didn't install Entourage at first. I just installed it today and it won't load. It freezes on start-up with this message. I got the laptop new so I can be sure there has never been another version of Entourage on this machine, and to be honest I don't know what "this identity" is. I do see myself in the Address Book if that's what it's looking for. Can anybody give me an idea what's going on?

Never mind...I did a little research and found an Entourage database. I don't know where it came from, but I deleted it and Entourage started right up and let me configure it.

The Identity that would not open was probably created under a newer version.

"This Identity Cannot Be Opened With This Version of Entourage"
This message usually means, for example, any Identity saved with a 12.1.0 or
later version will not open in 12.0.0 or 12.0.1. Since there was a database
format change in 12.1.0 (SP1), Entourage 12.0.0 or 12.0.1 cannot open a
database saved in the later version.

Entourage 2004 also had a database upgrade from the original release. Once
you upgrade, the Identity will open.
