I have been experiencing constant crashing in Entourage and Word for a
few weeks, so I decided to reinstall from the Office:mac 2004 disk.
Now I can't get Entourage to open at all. Please help.
You need to apply the latest updates. Changes were made to the database that
require the updates.
You can use the auto updater under Help or go to Mactopia:

Updating via Mactopia has proven to be less problematic than the auto
updater for some users.
If your crashing problems continue, please post back with details. Doing a
reinstall does not fix all crashing problems.
To test if the problem is in your User's folder, create a new User is System
Preferences and test your Office applications there. This will eliminate
corruption in your User's folder.
