This is a multi-part message in MIME format message

I just installed Windows XP SP2 and have been having all types of issues.
One of the issues includes receiving an email from my associate in which the
only thing displayed in the email was this message:
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
Can anyone tell me what this message is for and more importantly, how I can
resolve this issue and receive his emails properly. I am using Outlook 2003.
