"This operation has been canceled " - error message

Hello,

I use Win2K+SP4, IE6+SP1 and Outlook2003+SP2.

When I am trying to click on an hyperlink in an e-mail message I receive
the following message: "This operation has been canceled due to
restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your System
Adminstrator".

I also reset Web Settings in IE/Programs but the problem hasn't been
resolved. My PC is a stand alone on (I hav no access to an alternative
registry file copy).

Please advice.

The information bar at the top of the email usually allows you to activate
hyperlinks when they are blocked.

What bar? What information bar ? I use Outlook.

Outlook 2003, according to one of your prior messages.

The Infobar is the gray bar just below the sender in the Reading Pane and
just above the sender in an open message. It turns a yellowish color when
you hover the mouse over it. It contains sentences like "You replied on
XX/XX/XXXX".

Well, the problem I am encountring is not related with this bar. As far as I
have experienced with I haven't observed such a bar in my inconing emails. I
get the same warning message with any hyperlink embedded in 100% of my
incoming mails.

Thanks

The point is, if the antiphishing features of Outlook disable clicking a
link, the Infobar will contain statement telling you to click it to enable
links. If you don't see the bar, alas I don't know how to advise you.

Thanks Brian. I believe that this message comes out from a corrupted/missing
file somewhere. Somehow the link request is not linked correctly to IE6.

Hello Brian,

Eventually I got the solution from one of your experts (other newsgroup).
"My" registry file missed one importent paremeter that caused this problem.
The solution is to rebuild the following paremeter in it:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe\" -nohome"
