Thoughts on DB Size

Im using Access 07 in a FE/BE environment over a LAN. BE is an MS Access 07
file.
While monitoring the size, i can see that my data is growing at an average
of 27 to 30 KBytes daily.
I know GB is the size limit for access DB.
Any suggestions, tips and ideas on what I should do or start planning to do
or shouldn't be doing?

Thanks in advance.

So, some quick, back-of-the-envelope calculations...

One day adds 30 Kb.

One week adds 300 Kb.

One month adds 1.5 Mb.

One year adds 20 Mb.

Ten years add 200 Mb.

100 years add 2 Gb.

(how long are you planning to use this?)

2GByte actually - 182 years worth at 7 days a week, at the current rate.

One thing you needn't do is worry much about such a miniscule growth rate.

You can use Tools... Database Utilities... Compact and Repair periodically
(AFTER having made a backup); it's good routine maintenance and will remove
any waste space.

Thanks to both Jeff and John,

I guess I will leave that as it is since I am 30 years old now and wont be
around by the time the DB reaches its max size :)
I'll be long gone. (maybe not a good planning for the future) hahah

You've got to cut back on those ten-day weeks, Jeff, they'll wear you out!

Hey, I only promised quick & dirty, ... accurate costs more!

A colleague once had a sign on her desk:

Answers $0.10
Answers requiring thought $0.25
Correct answers $1.00-$2500
Dumb Looks are Still Free

That'd make a good .sig for here I suppose <g>
