Threaded mail: is it possible?

R

Robert Floyd

I just purchased Office 2004 and would like to set up Entourage to thread
email like the current Mail.app. Is there a way to do so? If so, how is it
done?

TIA,

Try using View:Arrange by...
Arraging by subject should more or less provide you with the view you
need. I created a new view on my Mac that I called Trheads by date where
Entourage organizes the e-mails by subject and then sorts the threads by
date.

How??? I'd really like to do that, though more with News messages

View/Arrange By/Edit Custom Arrangements

Or just click on the "Arrange By" column header if you are in 3-column view
(Preview pane at right).

Thanks for the tip. Group by Subject, Sort by Sent (descending), Sort within
by Sent (ascending) did the trick for me.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of Entourage, and it's rather nice
(much better than the Outlook 2000 junk I'm stuck with at work). Once I get
the hang of the Project Center, I'm going to start to pick up my
productivity big time (I hope)...but that is for another thread.

Thanks again, everyone,

I don't seem to possess that facility... Entourage 10.0.1 Office X
It's Entourage 2004-only. Additionally, you should really run the updates on
your install. The current version for Office X is 10.1.6.

I thank you for that, however if you intend to update any such application
it is HUGELY important that you have the original registration serial no.
etc. to hand or you will not be able to ever use the thing again!!! Hence my
delay in replying, and my belief in the maxim, that if it ain't broke don't
fix it. I have explored a couple of Email and news applications during my
search for the missing information and discovered Thunderbird which I heard
was on the verge of taking over MS and Opera and becoming the world
leader.....No chance, Mac Mail which I could never get to like and Opera
which is so weird that you have to love it but by the time you find the
right buttons you want to beat it severely.

Entourage really is rather a fine piece of work IMHO

Well always... (thgou I never had to re-enter them after applying the
Office updates).
