.tif files in MS Document imaging

Hi

I opened a .tif image in MS Document Imaging Version 11.0.1897.0 and rotated
the image, saving the changes (still) in the .tif format. Now it is no
longer visible as a thumbnail preview in the folder (other non-manipulated
..tif files can) and Adobe Photoshop will not open the file: it claims it does
not recognise the file type (!)

Can anyone suggest how I can work around this?

Try opening it in Irfanview and save. (www.google.com + Irfanview)

This does allow me to open the file in Photoshop, but the thumbnail preview
is still absent - unless I 'save as' another filetype such as JPG.

Sounds like you have sorted the issue. As you have observed there are
MANY tif formats and most graphics programs don't read every possible
variation.
