In need of help

I have someone who is sending me a tif file. He scans in a document with 3
pages but when I get it I can only see one page. He has a newer version of
Microsoft Office I have Microsoft office 2003. What can we do so I can see
the whole scan?

MS Office Picture manager will only show the first page of a multi-page TIF
file. You can possibly open the file in XP's Fax program if you have that
or download and install irfanview (Google for it.) It can view and create
the multi-page tif files.

According to Wikipedia, the association for *.tif files was removed for MODI
in Office 2003 SP3.

The OP could download and install IrfanView. That has the ability to view
multipage tif files.

Irfanview works really well. You can manually scroll through pages using the
bar at the top of the screen once installed. You will also need to install
the plugins and Ghostscript too.

Go to -
http://download.cnet.com/IrfanView/3000-2192_4-10021962.html?part=dl-IrfanView&subj=dl&tag=button

to download Irfanview.

Go here - http://www.software.com/irfanview-plugins-9374-1#details

to download the needed plugins. Click on TRY IT FREE

And go here - http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/doc/GPL/gpl871.htm

to download Ghostscript. Scroll down the page to the Microsoft Windows
section.

The plugins, perhaps, but why GhostScript?

There is a postscript plugin built-in to Ghostscript that helps view, modify
and print certain aspects of .tiff files properly.

Ah, I see what you mean. I think at one time it didn't require this (which is why I
asked). The version I have now does, though. Pops an error message box about how
it needs GhostScript if you try to go past the first page of a multi-page TIF.

Thanks.
