Here is the problem:
My customer was using document imaging to manipulate multi-page tif
files. Simple double clicking on the .tif file would open the
associated document imaging program. After a network pushed patch was
installed the tif files would not open in the usual way. My customer
is using a double monitor system on a Matrox dual head video card.
Document imaging would open just fine if the program is activated at
the program icon. This almost drove us both crazy.
Solution:
I went through and stopped one process at a time in Task Manager. With
each process stopped I tried double clicking a tif file. When I ended
the process associated with the Matrox Power desk program (installed
with the dual head card) the tif file opened normally.
Suggestion:
Anyone having a problem with an image file not opening should try the
above troubleshooting procedure. It just might lead to a solution and
save a trip to the shrink.
The regedit found in this group didn't work in this case.
