Help, please?

When I asked a few days ago in another newsgroup how to import the Microsoft
Intermediate Certificate and Microsoft Entity Certificate from Panther's
Users/~/Library/Keychains to Tiger's Users/~/Library Keychains

I was given a one-line response:
See:
<http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;887413>

Unfortunately, Tiger's Keychain Access Utility is very different from
Panther's, and the article at the above address refers to ways to import or
re-create that no longer work.

If I go into the Finder, I clearly see the two certificates in my user
Library/Keychains. But when I click on import and navigate to the folder
containing the Microsoft keychains, they're grayed out and can't be
accessed.

The article suggested an alternative: "Click the Keychain menu, click
X509 Anchors, and then click OK" That's NOT in the Keychain menu, and when
I go down into a popup button and click on X509 anchors, nothing happens.

Tiger's Keychain Access allows you to select either "Certificates" or "My
Certificates" which are visible when you go into import mode. But
highlighting either of them does not help.

I did an erase-and-clean installation of OS 10.4 and opted NOT to use the
Tiger setup assistant because Panther was corrupted.

If you've imported MS certificates from a Panther volume to a Tiger volume,
please help.

FYI: This issue is also being discussed in "Tiger & Root Certificate".
It is also being discussed in the Apple > Mail discussion boards to
since iMail 2.0 has the same problem.

Thanks "maynardco" for responding but neither the posts in the Entourage
Newsgroup's "Tiger & Root Certificate" thread nor a review of the
certificate threads in the Apple/Mail discussion group were relevant to the
specifics of the situation I described:

" If I go into the Finder, I clearly see the two certificates in my user
Library/Keychains. But when I click on import and navigate to the folder
containing the Microsoft keychains, they're grayed out and can't be
accessed."

As noted earlier, I did an erase-and-clean install and did NOT use Tiger's
Setup Assistant.

I attempted to re-create the certificates by using the below-cited Microsoft
Knowledge Base article but it applied to the Panther Keychain Access
utility which does not work the same way as Tiger's.

Since my last post, I tried Tiger Keychain Access/First Aid, but that did
not help.

QUESTIONS:

1. What would be the downside of copying the two Microsoft certificates
from my Panther Users/~/Library/Keychains and just dropping the copies into
the Tiger Users/~/Library/Keychains folder?

2. What other options do I have for importing the two Microsoft
certificates?

Thanks.

It appears my Safari, Entourage and iMail certificate problems were
related. Find the "Apple:Support:Discussion:Topic:Safari for Tiger not
letting me into password protected sites" discussion. The solutions
described by Makar and Rokkam (2 entries) worked for me.
