Tight Layout not working

This is very frustrating. I have a document with one of the clip art
images set to the tight layout. It works fine. The text is wrapping
nicely around the image.

I created a new document and tried to use the tight layout again, but
it does not work. In the new document, the text is only at the top and
bottom of the image. It will not wrap. I even inserted the same image
as first document (where it worked), and it still doesn't work. I
checked all of the layout settings and advanced settings, and they are
the same. I don't know what is happening.

Text won't wrap around an autoshape either. The Square layout will
wrap around the right side only, but the Tight layout doesn't work at
all.

Please help. Not sure what is happening, but it is very frustrating
that it works in one document and not the other. Thanks.

What O.S., what WORD? Try:

Copy your posted text to a blank page. Draw an Autoshapes/Basic
Shapes/Crescent and place it in the middle of your text.
Select Format Autoshape and select the Layour tab.
Click on Advanced and select the Text Wrapping Tab.
Select Tight and Wrap text both sides Click on OK and OK

That should have produced a tight wrap. (You might have to play around with
"Distance from Text" gaps to get it as close as you want

Hope this helps. Have you checked the Edit Wrap Points to see of they are
following your shape farily closely?
