Time Difference (negative)

I have to show the difference in the start and stop time
of our workday; however, when I do this and it is less
than eight (8) hours, the column displays the #####. How
can I show the time format hh:mm in negative? Please
help!

Use decimal hours

=8-(F2)*24

formatted as general


or do tools>options>calculations and select 1904 date system.
The problem is if you have dates already they will have 1462 days added, so
if that's the case
you can put 1462 in a cell, copy it, select the changed dates and do
edit>paste special and select subtract
