Time for tasks not coming over from timesheets

Gail

In my timesheet, I have time entered towards a task. My timesheet is approved
and then in My Tasks, I import my timesheet. My time displays on the tasks on
the Import Timesheet page. But my time is not displaying in the My Tasks
page. I have looked in the Approvals->Task Updates->Applied Requests and
Errors also and there is not record of the time.

Any ideas?

Are you using oob Project Server 2007 for time management or have you
installed something like Timesheet Tied Mode?

We are using out of box Project 2007.

It could be that the tasks you entered hours against in My Timesheets have
been deleted and recreated in My Tasks (by the PM) so they have completely
new UIDs in the database and are no longer matching to the tasks in My
Timesheets.

Unlikely that this is the scenario but try to delete your timesheet,
re-create your timesheets with tasks, apply hours and then import to My
Tasks again.

This sounds obvious, but I didn't see it in your post:

Even though the time isn't displaying, after you imported your
timesheet into MyTasks, did you hit the Submit All button?

If you check in task approvals, anything there?

Yes-I imported my timesheet into my tasks and viewed the task approvals. My
time is not there. This is a bit concerning as I cannot be sure what other
time has not come over.

Something we found with importing timesheets is if the Category isn't set to
STANDARD, the tasks won't import. While this is the default for project
tasks added when the timesheet is created, it has to be selected if a task is
added via add lines.

Mark,

I am having a similar issue with one Timesheet user's task updates not being
sent to PMs for approval. We do not get email notifications and the task
updates do not appear in task updates for the PM. We have installed a
Timesheet Tied Mode. Any insight? Thank you.

Thank you, Jonathan. We had the same problem and solved it by following your
suggestions!
