Time Line

I'm a writer, currently writing memoir. I'm working with time, i.e. past,
present, and future. I was wondering if I could make a timeline with
PowerPoint? It be a document with a line (Wow. That was a hard one. Huh?)
that ran left to right, A to Z. Some where along the line would be ther
present point of view, or "now." On the line, whether simple past, past
perfect, or otherwise, all time would be indicated either behind "now" or
after "now" to indicate past, present, or future. I know this all seems
simple enough, but writing a book, a reader can get confused if the writer
doesn't use the various verb tenses correctly, i.e. Simple, Perfect,
Progressive, and Perfect Progressive tenses. So, I'm working this technique
of taking what I've written, and working it all out on a time line to make
sure I use the English language's various verb tenses correctly and don't
lose my reader. So, to conclude, can I develop a workable "Time Line" with
PowerPoint, and if yes, how, and if no, is there some application software by
Microsoft or whomever that can help me?
