Time Phased Actual Costs Question

In my project, I have a resource (material) assigned to a task. I enter
actual costs (time phased) for this resource under the task when invoices
arrive. When I enter the time-phased costs for the resource, the actual costs
(total) for the resource and the task update properly. I also have a baseline
saved for the task.

The problem exists with a calculated field that I created. It shows the
remaining balance for the given task by subtracting the actual cost (task)
from the baseline for the task. This field will update correctly when
updating the time-phased resource costs up through a seemingly arbitrary
date. After that date, the actual costs for the resource and the task update
correctly, but the calculated field fails to change. Any ideas what is going
on? I have multiple tasks where this problem is occuring but other tasks
don't have the problem.
