time-phased data in PWA 2007?

I colleague of mine was saying that time-phased data was available
through PWA 2003 (e.g., Resource Center | Resource Assignments - by
resource, project, or task (in any combination) for a time period and
generate a view that could be exported to Excel.)

Where is that in PWA 2007? Hopefully in 2007 you aren't limited to
the OLAP cubes for that type of capability.

Hi Andy,

You can get timephased data in differnt ways.

Firstly the olap cube as you arlready stated, in the resource center when
you go to "view availability" you can see timephased data regarding
availability per resource.

In Project Server 2007 you have all of the above capabillity plus the
reporting database, where you can create reports that are timephased.

I hope this answers your questions
Thanks

Andy,

Adding to Marc's excellent reply - in Project Professional 2007, you
also have Visual Reports, which provides a wide variety of timephased
data reporting.

Aren't the Visual Reports limited to a project at a time though?

Without having to generate custom SRS reports or exporting data to Excel and
manipulate it manually, I would say the best source for time-phased
information out of the box are the OLAP cubes. In MSPS 2007, you can slice
and dice OLAP data by Project and Resource information and now also by Task
and Assignment level information which was not available in MSPS 2003.

Also, in MSPS 2007, custom fields and values can be easily added to the OLAP
cubes using the configuration page in PWA>Server Settings>Data Analysis
