Time Phased / Work Remaining

I work in project 2007 Professional

How can I get my time phased table in resource usage to show the correct
amount of work that is remaining?

For example:

The time phased table is set up in two tiers. Months / weeks. Then listed
in the table is a cumulating number from when the project starts to when it
finishes. When updating % work complete, the time phased field does not
change. Please tell me what I’m doing wrong.

Hopeful_1,

Remaining work is not a timephased field. You can see total
remaining work in the left side of the Resource Usage table by
adding the field. What you see on the right side of the Resource
Usage view is the Work field which is either Actual Work (when
actual work is recorded) or remaining work which is any work in the
future.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

So there is no way to show remaining work in the timephased table? How can I
show a breakdown of remaining availability in the timephased table? Is that
something that is calculated by hours only?

No, the remaining work field is not timephased.

re:

Remaining availability is not remaining work. Remaining
availability is the number of hours the resource has that are not
assigned on a given day. It is calculated based upon the resource's
calendar, max. units, and work assigned. It is shown in hours.

I hope this helps.

I'm sorry for all the questions ...

When I right click the timephased table, it allows me to choose work and
remaining availibility. What is remaining availibilty used for?

No trouble about the questions, but I did explain what remaining
availability is below in my previous answer :)
