Time reporting...

I would like to utilize MSP to extract "time reporting" (i.e. actual work on
tasks per week, per resource).

What is the best way to do this? I know (I think) I will have to use the
export function because I will need to use Excel so I can manipulate it the
data.

Here is an example:

TASK = WRITE REPORT (estimated work per resource = 50 hours)
2 RESOURCES ASSIGNED (FIXED UNITS/NON-EFFORT DRIVEN)

Res #1/week #1 = Actual Work 20h
Res #2/week #1= Actual Work 15h

Res #1/week #2 = Actual Work 35h
Res #2/week #2= Actual Work 30h

After 2 weeks, task is 100% complete... Res#1 = 55h and Res #2 = 45h

Is this type of thing "standard" functionality for MSP?

Thanks, Kevin

Hello Kevin,
Standard indeed !
Just enter such data in the Resource Usage (or Task Usage) view, where
you'll add the Actual Work field : Format / Detail Style...
You can change the timescale so that you'll enter this data on a weekly
basis.

Thanks.

One other question though - I am having my resources enter their time per
task into an Excel spreadsheet (which was generated out of MSP) - is there a
way to import this per resource/per task info back into MSP on a daily basis
so I end up with timephased information?

Kevin,
No, you can't, leastwise easily ;-(
This can be done by a VBA procedure, but it's not an easy one.
The Import via a map is able to import data in columns, not timephased data.
