I currently do mail merges to allow a template using fields from excel to be
printed to make life easier. For some reason thou if my field is set in a
time format when if comes to word it converts to a decimal form. example the
time is 17:00 it comes as .5.

Help is greatly appreciated.

See http://tips.pjmsn.me.uk/t0003.htm for a (long) explanation of this
problem -the DDE approach described there is likely to be the simplest fix.
Although "0.5" does not seem quite right for 17:00 the likley origin of the
problem is if the OLE DB provider has decided on the basis of the first 8
rows of data that the column should be regarded as numeric rather than
date/time.
