Time zone in Date/Time fields

Bill

I have a custom form for requesting travel arrangements. The user specifies
desired travel times and when arrangements are made they are replaced with
exact times by the travel department. We have users accessing the forms
remotely via VPN. The fields in question have a Type of Date/Time with a
format of 11:37 AM.

Unfortunately the user's time zone is taken into account and affects the
input value. Is there any way to disable this, or will I have to make the
field type Text?

The reason I want to disable is that the time zone makes booking travel
difficult. The user requesting travel arrangements will potentially be
entering times in two or three different time zones (departure and arrival
cities, and possibly multi-leg trips). Further complicating it, some cities
do not observe DST.

Thanks,

Bill Le May

No, there is no way to disable Outlook's normal way of storing date/time field values. Outlook 2007, however, does allow you to associate a time zone with a date/time property, which makes planning itineraries a little easier.
