Time Zone Issues

So every time I start making an event in Entourage, a little message just
below the icon buttons says ³Event and computer time zones do not match. In
Calendar views, the event time is adjusted to display correctly.²

This is total BS because I have checked that both my Entourage preferences
and the computer system clocks are set to same time zone Pacific. Anyone
have any ideas on how I can turn off this annoying warning?

Thanks,
keith

Yes, well known bug, started after DST on Apr 2. Search for lengthy thread
on this group. No solution until Microsoft acknowledges and provides a
patch. It doesn¹t seem to do any harm (though some people have reported
printing discrepancies?).

I didn't start having this problem until last night (18 Apr), but it
was last night that I installed the most recent update to Entourage,
which was published in March as far as I can tell.

That's right, it's a bug in 11.2.3.
Has anyone heard anything from MS on this?

No. What's to hear? Eventually they'll release a fix. In the meantime,
there's nothing to say.

It's the most minimal, unimportant imaginable bug. There's no real bug.
Nothing is wrong or at the wrong time. The only issue is that the banner
says it's wrong when it isn't. Now that you know it's actually OK, there's
basically no bug.

Paul,

This is not correct - at least not for people living outside the USA.
I'm located in Australia. I've had this 'bug' since I first installed
Entourage in Office 2004. It has been there after every update I've
installed. There are also othet time zone related bugs - see my other
post here about calener printing problems.

Ok. there is no data loss, but it IS a bug, and people are quite
annoyed by it.

The whole time-zone handling needs work. When I switch time zones, my
events still get created in my home time-zone instead of the one I am
currently in, and I don't realize it until after the event is created
and invites are sent out. The time zone being used should always
display when creating an event, and switching the system time zone
should be picked up inside Entourage automatically unless I (the user)
say otherwise.

I agree that the "mismatched time zone" banner is annoying, and I think it
is contributing to your other issue.

I don't agree that Entourage should automatically change so that all new
appointments are created in your home time zone. I think many people
schedule meetings for after they have returned, and in this case you would
want your meeting time to be based on your "home" timezone. I don't think
there is a way to define a default behavior in this regard that will satisfy
everyone.

Indeed, the way it is supposed to work is that the "mismatched time zone"
banner only is displayed when your timezones are actually different. So you
would immediately note that the meeting you are scheduling needs to have its
time zone set properly (or left as is). However, now that the banner
displays all the time, this important notice is now meaningless.

Not exactly.. When I sync with my PDA, EVERYTHING gets moved an
duplicated. So not only do I have to delete 400 some entries when
sync, I also have to move another 400 all forward by 1 hour
