time zone shortcuts

Is there any way for me to get more quickly to a time zone in the time zones
dropdown of my calendar? Using '07, as it stands I am default on Eastern
time zone, but schedule quite a few things with India. To get there
currently I have to page down twice, then arrow several times down, before I
make it to India (I prefer to use keyboard to mouse for most things). Is
there any way for me to either have "shortcut" time zones, wherein I can
reduce the time it takes to find my most used ones (India, Caucusus, EST,
CST)?

Are you aware that you can show a second timezone in the Calendar? Apart
from that function, there's nothing in Outlook. Try a website with
timezones.

not clear what you mean by a website with timezones. If I am scheduling an
appointment, I am saying I know which time zone I want to use (i.e., I am in
the U.S., hang up with a colleague in India, and have agreed that we'll have
a call at X p.m., IST...hence I would schedule something on the calendar by
making a new appointment, alt-h/OS, and then select the time zone for IST).
The issue is how to quickly navigate to the IST time zone with my keyboard
(because as it stands, as I mention, I have to page down, then arrow down,
and so on). Would like to do something like enter a shortcut key and be able
to enter IST in the time zone instantly.

Hope that clarifies the request.

Page Down is the only shortcut I know of - type down won't work since they
all begin with the same text [(GMT]. It would have been nice to use
abbreviations or the full name of the zone first, but they needed to do it
this way to keep them in order by zone.

I wonder... if you could change the display name in the registry so it would
be on top? The zones are stored at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones
and you'll need to reboot for it to go into effect. you'd probably need to
use '(A-India' to bring it to the top.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones
and you'll need to reboot for it to go into effect. you'd probably need to
use '(A-India' to bring it to the top.

It does work - but (A doesn't put it at the top - however type down works if
you remove the TZ offset from the display name. change (GMT - +xx:xx)
Place_Name to Place_Name and you can type P to jump to it. So for India,
remove the TZ part so it just says India then press I to jump to it. You
could also rename them 1- EST, 2-CST, 3-India etc and type down by number.

Um, if you schedule an event in the calendar in your time zone then send it
to the other attendees, they should see it in their time zone.
