Timeline dates

I would like to be able to start a time line with a date older than Dec. 31, 1899. How do i accomplish this? I am using Visio 2000 and if 2003 will solve this problem I will purchase it. However, I have seen no information indicating it will let me do this.

Sorry, this is a limitation of Microsoft Windows. All the Office apps use
the same system calendar, and that calendar does not go back very far.
