Timeline for return of VBA ?

First of all, this is perhaps the worst forum software I have ever seen... No way to get a regular threaded list of discussions? This "Questions" and "Answers" is maddening.

Anyway... Any timeline for the next release of Office for Mac with the return of VBA? I am the IT Manager where I work and we have skipped the release of 2008 entirely because it is quite useless without the macros.

And, anyone know if they are planning closer feature parity between the Windows and Mac versions in terms of VBA?

Unfortunately -- despite our best efforts -- we have no control whatsoever
over how any part of the Mactopia web site is designed. If you have any
comments pro or con use the links provided on the site to direct your
opinions through the proper channels. Most of those who frequent the groups
use a newsreader rather than the web UI.

The only statement released by MS is that VBA will return in the next
version of Office for Mac. When that will be is currently undisclosed and I
doubt that anyone in the company knows for certain at this time. I'm certain
they must have a "target date" but too much can happen in the meantime for
that to be circulated as public information. Even those who might have a
general idea are under tight NDA & will not disclose what they know if they
value their career in the industry.

Details, again, cannot be relied on until such time as MS officially
releases such information. My assumption [FWIW] is that the intent is to
close the gap which has existed historically. Whether that gap actually
closes or simply narrows remains to be seen. As with the previous point,
those willing to tell don't know & those who might know won't tell.

As Bob said, this is a peer-to-peer group. Making that comment here will
have zero effect on MS.

So instead, read it as a newsgroup (microsoft.public.mac.office), using
a threaded newsreader. It's MUCH more efficient.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how long MS will continue to support nntp.

See these direction on how to use the Entourage newsreader:

If you use a newsreader rather than the Mactopia interface to this newsgroup
you can download old messages and search for answers. If you are not
familiar with a newsreader, Entourage's basic newsreader already has the
Microsoft News server included. All you do is subscribe to the newsgroups
you want. See this article for help subscribing using the Entourage
newsreader:

The Entourage newsreader is not robust, but it is easy to use. If you want
more features, try Thunderbird's newsreader.

Sorry, I probably should have included my usual snarky reference to
Entourage as a pretend newsreader.

But the OP specifically wanted a "threaded list", which Erage won't do.

LOL! As a newsreader, Entourage is not robust to say the least. It is easy
to use and setup.
