Timeline - microsecond scale

I work in electronic hardware design and I'd like to use the timeline shapes
in Visio to show detailed timing information between electronic components.
I've searched the Visio forum and it appears that the timeline shapes in
Visio do not support other time scales.

Is it possible to modify the shapes in Visio to support the small time scale?

There was a stencil for doing timing diagrams during the Compuserve days. I
