Timeline Plots

I am trying to create a chart with a static line representing the calendar months and then plot date of a project (project name) plotted around this line based on the project go live date. In other words I would not show a true x and y axis but rather just the timeline and the plots. Has anyone donethis. Could you offer a sample?

Project Name Go Live
