Hi,
My sister-in-law is running Outlook 2003, Windows XP and Norton Anti-Virus
2004. Her ISP is BT Openworld (she is not on broadband). Receiving e-mails
is great, but she always gets the Norton message that her server has timed
out and her messages have not been sent whenever she tries to send. We have
tried running Symantec Live Update for the relevant fixes etc, have tried
disabling outgoing message scanning, and even tried disabling disconnect when
finished send and receive, but none of this helps. She can send and receive
without problems if she already has her internet connection running before
she sends and receives. I'm also using the same software but have a
broadband connection and have no problems. The only thing I can think of, is
that it is trying to disconnect before outgoing messages are scanned -
however, with these options switched off, it puzzles me.
If anyone is able to offer any advice we would be very grateful.
Thanks very much.
Karen.
